Description
Himalayan pink salt is a highly valued product in today’s cuisine. It is characterized by the pink color that acquires from the minerals with which it is naturally in contact.
Himalayan pink salt is a type of unrefined mineral salt rich in trace elements, such as magnesium, so it has less sodium per serving than other salts.
It is usually used especially for meat and fish, it is also often used as kosher salt. It is recommended to throw it after cooking to preserve all its qualities.
Homemade saline solution requires the following:
- 4 cups of distilled or boiled (for at least 20 minutes) water
- 2 teaspoons (tsp) of Himalayan salt
- An airtight storage container with a lid, such as a bottle
- A mmixing utensil
To make a smaller batch, use 1 cup of water with one-half tsp of the Himalayan salt. Allow to dissolve completely
If using tap water, boil it first for at least 20 minutes to sterilize the water and remove any bacteria and chemicals. Let it cool before use. Avoid using sea salt, as it contains additional minerals.
