Chrysoprase Tumbled Stone

Description

Chrysoprase (also Chrysophrase) is a gemstone variety of chalcedony (fibrous form of quartz) that contains small quantities of nickel.

This crystal was first found in 1844 by J.D. Dana. He named it for the Greek words meaning “gold” and “green”.

Its colour is normally apple-green, but varies to deep green. Due to its comparative scarcity and pleasing green colour, Chrysoprase is one of the most prised varieties of quartz.

Chrysoprase stone is the most valuable stone in chalcedony group. Chrysoprase is useful in soothing heartache and loneliness, promoting emotional balance, and granting inner strength and peace. Its calming and shielding energies promote the calm state of mind useful in examining the problems offering realistic solutions. The stone can lead to greater confidence and is said to help relieve gout, eye problems and mental illness.
